Burke receiving funds for the Greene County Commission; Bonnie Olayiwola, Mayor of Boligee, receiving funds for the Town of Boligee, CSFO Shane Martin receiving funds for the Greene County Board of Education; Eutaw Police Chief Derrick Coleman receiving funds for Eutaw and Emma Jackson receiving funds for the Greene County Sheriff’s Department.

 

On Friday, August  10, Sheriff Jonathan Benison passed out the July  checks representing the distributions to the various entities, according to the rules and regulations he had established.

A total of $178,944.19 was given to the Greene  County Commission, the Greene County Sheriff’s Office, the  Cities of Eutaw, Forkland, Boligee, and Union and  the Greene  County Board  of Education.

The funds came from the  four bingo entities in  the county according not only to Benison’s regulations but made legal by a Constitutional  Amendment passed  by the citizens of Greene County.

The total distribution for July, 2012 was:

Greene County Commission – $71,589.68

Greene County Sheriff – $26,846.13.

City of Eutaw – $13,423.06

City of Forkland – $8,949.71

City of Boligee  -  $8,949.71

City of Union – $8,949.71

Greene  Co. Board of Education – $40,269.19

This is a grand total of $178.944.19.

All were delighted to receive these resources.
