“I’m not running for office, I’m running for you,” said Corey Cockrell when he announced his candidacy for Mayor of Eutaw.
Cockrell has a B. S. in P. E. from Jacksonville State University; is a member of the Jacksonville State Hyper Club and the Business Association Program.
He is a board member of the Greene Co. Disaster Board (E-911), a volunteer/tutor and the football and basketball coach at the Greene Co. Housing Authority Summer Enrichment program.
Cockrell said he was the best candidate for Mayor because “I possess all the qualities it takes to be a great mayor. It combines two of my passions – building up the community and working with people to move them toward a great future.
“I am a hard-working, dependable, dedicated and devoted young man who is ready to help Eutaw achieve the goals that are set before us. I want to give the citizens of Eutaw an opportunity for better jobs, more activities for the children and a chance for all citizens to have a great future.
“My vision is to attract high paying jobs by making Eutaw a great place to do business, having a better sewer system and better roads throughout the city, and providing recreational opportunities that promote a healthy lifestyle.
“I believe that Eutaw can be the most vibrant and liveable city in America. With God and us standing together, we can move this city forward,” said Cockrell.
