Goldman Contractors, Inc. have begun the sewer  project on Boligee Street between Wilson Avenue and Howard Street. This is something that  has needed to be done for several years, but was held up by the financial status of the city.

The work  has not stopped traffic on Boligee Street. The center turn lane is  being utilized for cars coming into town

Clay Hanley with Goldman and Sons said there are four man holes and approximatively 100 feet of clay pipe to be replaced in the project.

He said it would take several weeks to complete all  the work that had  to be done.

The work is made more  difficult by  the depth of the pipes and the weather which slows the process down.

The project is being financed by the city with the help of  a Delta Regional Authority (DRA) grant.

According to Eutaw Mayor Raymond Steele. “The project was always there. Sometimes it just takes time. When the contractors complete the work on replacing the pipes and man holes, that area of the street will be repaved. This is a good project for the entire community.”
