To the citizens of Eutaw, I am Alphonzo “Duke” Morton, Jr., a life-time resident of Eutaw. I am seeking the position for City Councilman, District #1 of Eutaw.
I am confident that I possess the qualities of professional leadership.
I aim to work with one goal in mind, the best serve the citizens of Eutaw.
I will be available and will consult with the citizens in District #1 regarding any issues we face and will prayfully be helpful in successfully planning, serving and making efforts for best possible outcomes for all the citizens.
My hope and goal is to bring unity, growth and progress to the city. If elected, I will make mutual efforts to make a positive difference in the lives of our citizens.
I am currently employed as Manager of Edgar’s Supermarket in Eutaw. I have been employed with the grocery business for over 40 years. I am honest, dependable, accountable, reliable, available and willing to serve.
I am a graduate of Carver High School Class of 1967. In my spare time, I volunteer my time with youth, working with the schools PTA’s and Athletic Booster Clubs in official positions. I have served on several official boards inclusive of Greene County E911; Greene County Vocational Education/Career Center. I also help the elderly and disable citizen in the various communities.
I am a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, Eutaw; and serve as the Sunday School Superintendent, Adult Class Sunday School Teacher, Church Treasurer, Steward, Member of the Board of Trustees, Pastor-Parish Relation, a member of the Adult Choir and I am Church Custodian. I also co-host along with my pastor on the Prime Time Radio Bible Teaching each Sunday morning (WVFG 107.5 FM).
I believe in family, unity and teamwork. Together, we can work toward “Moving the City of Eutaw Forward.”
