Faye Tyree

To the citizens of the City of Eutaw, my name is Faye Tyree and I am seeking the position of City Council for District 2. I am a native of Greene County and have resided here the past 22 years.

I’ve worked for the Board of Registrars, done substitute teaching, and have retired from the Tuscaloosa News. For the past two years I have volunteered at Greene County High School and am currently volunteering my service with RSVP through the Greene County Commission Governing body.

I formed the Greene County Youth Mass Choir in the early 90′s and am also the founder of the organization S.E.E.K. This organization awarded four $500 scholarships to students going to college that met the requirements for this award.I am a member of St. Paul Methodist Church where I serve in various capacities. I serve on the board of trustee, the committee for lay leadership, chairman of Ecumenical Affairs and Social Committee, and I am a member of the choir.

I have served on numerous boards namely; Department of Human Resources, City of Eutaw Medical Board, City of Eutaw Zoning Board of Adjustments and the Eutaw Housing Authority Board. The invaluable experience gained as overseer of budget preparation, and formulating policy and procedures for this authority, will assist me greatly for the position I am now seeking.

In closing, realizing that all policy making is a group effort, I am asking that you give me a chance to become involved in our local government policy making decisions. I am confident that if given the chance to serve as your Council-woman for District 2, I’ll work hard for you to move our city forward.
