On July 11, 2012, Greene County Sheriff Joe  Benison distributed May and  June bingo taxes to the various political entities entitled  to the money under his rules and  regulations.

The  total  sum distributed  for May was $157,844.19. The June distributions totaled $169,353.34.

The May totals per bingo hall  were:  Dream Inc./Frontier – $34,470; Green Charity – $56,612.90; Greenetrack – $59,961.29 and Lucky Star was $10,800.

Of these funds, the  Greene  County Commission received $63,029.68; the Greene County Sheriff’s  Office received $23,636.14; the City of Eutaw received $11,818.07; the Board of Education received $35,724.19; the Cities of Union, Forkland and Boligee  each received  $7,878.71.

The June totals per bingo hall were: Greenetrack – $60,153.34; Green Charity – $54,800; Dream, Inc/Frontier – $34,200; Lucky Star – $20,200.

The  June monies received by each entity were:

Greene County Commission – $67,741.34; Greene  County Sheriff’s Office – $25,403; City of Eutaw – $12,701.50; the Greene County Board of Education – $38,104.50; the  cities of Forkland and Boligee each received $8,467.67;  the city  of Union received $8,467.66.

Each entity receiving Bingo funds may spend them as needed.
