Eutaw’s firetruck received its annual pump test this past week.

According to the Chief Bennie Abrams of the Eutaw  Fire Department,  each truck has a pump with a  specified rating or capacity and  once  a year it must be put through  a  pumping operation that insures that particular truck’s pump meets  all specifications.

According to Abrams, the total time for the pumping  test is 40 minutes. “This is to insure that when we need our fire trucks,  they are ready to go,”  said Abrams.

Also tested this past week were  firetrucks  from the Forkland, Low  Road and Clinton Volunteer  Fire Departments.

The tests  were  conducted by the Tuscaloosa Fire Equipment Company.
