The Eutaw City Council meeting  on June 26th accomplished little, except approving bills to be paid.

The  proposal to improve  the local airport was tabled  due to the absence of the City Attorney.

The Council also voted against  adding an additional councilmember to the list  of those who could sign checks.

Approved were  utility company bills,  the  sewer notes, an  invoice from the Perry County  Commission for road work done  in Branch  Heights and  travel expenses  for Police Chief Derick Coleman.

The council also approved the Highway Department  building two new sidewalks from Hwy. 43 to Caver Middle School and improve existing  sidewalks. This will all be done by the Eutaw Highway Department with available grant money.

A proposal for an attorney to handle indigent defense (provide an attorney for defendants unable  to pay for legal defense) was tabled until a later  meeting as was the city doing  more work to improve the National Guard Armory Building.
