On May 11, the bingo distribution from Greenetrack ($65,333,34), Greene Charity ($51,226.67); YPAO, operating as  Lucky Star Bingo in  the Comfort Inn  ($30,000) and Frontier Bingo (($28, 156) was given to the various entities entitled to the money according to the rules and regulations established by Sheriff Joe Benison and HB71

Each entity receiving the funds was very vocal in their appreciation, Mayor James Gaines, Jr. of Union said that these funds would help the town make improvements to the park, roads, etc. “Without bingo distributions, these goals would be financially difficult to undertake,” said Gaines.

Benison provided a recap of the returns of bingo proceeds to the various entities from April of 2011 through December 2011.

A  total of $422,947.72 was paid to the Greene County Commission, the Sheriff’s Department, and the towns of Boligee, Forkland, Union and Eutaw. Benison pointed out that this was less than a full year.

When Frontier closed in May of 2011, they owed a total of $39,240. This amount will be added to the 2012 distributions. Frontier is now open
