On February 22, 2012, staff members of the Greene County School System will assist parents and students with completing applications to enroll in Shelton State Community College for the Mercedes-Benz Automotive Technician Program and Industrial Mechatronics Program. The program includes seven terms of instruction at Shelton State Community College, followed by 18 months of training at Mercedes-Benz U. S. International in Vance. Coursework is only offered during day classes. The program does not include college preparatory work.

During the seven terms of study at Shelton, students are required to work at MBUSI a minimum of eight  hours per week on Fridays and/or Saturdays, days and evenings. The students will be paid for all hours worked at MBUSI.

Upon satisfactory completion of coursework at Shelton State students earn an Associatee’s in Appliance Science-Industrial Electronics and a Short Certificate in Industrial Maintenance.

Mercedes is the manufacturing facility of the Mercedes-Benz ML Class, the R-Glass and the GL Class.
