Washington, DC—Today, Rep. Terri A. Sewell issued the following statement on the University of Alabama’s Bowl Championship Series (BCS) National Championship win over the LSU Tigers:
“Congratulations to the University of Alabama’s football team for its resounding 21-0 victory over the LSU Tigers in the 2011 BCS Championship, said Congresswoman Sewell.“ Today, we look forward to the team’s return to Alabama as they bring home the crystal trophy to the 7th Congressional District of Alabama for the second time in three years. We are so proud of Coach Nick Saban, his coaching staff, and all of the players for their impressive victory last night.
‘This win is a unifying victory for the state of Alabama which suffered so much devastation in the wake of the April tornadoes. We must continue to work together to ensure the people affected by the storms keep receiving the help they need to recover.
“This victory shows the resilient spirit of Alabamians and reflects our hope for a better future. Roll Tide!!”
