Only three commissioners were present at the regular meeting of the Greene County Commission on Monday, January 9, 2012 – Allen Turner, Jr., Elzora Fluker and Marvin Childs.

CFO Paula Bird presented the financial report. The commission approved paying $342,067.13 in claims.

County Engineer Arzo Abrams and his department was able to purchase a one ton flat bed truck, a 2005 John Deere tractor and two other flat bed trucks.

In other business, the commission:

*Approved funding in the amount of $517,564 for the Industrial Access Road and Bridge corporation as requested by the Greene County Board of Education.

*Approved request for letting bids for the replacement of the roof on the Greene County Courthouse.

*Approved a 050 Beer and 070 Retail Table Wine License for Eutaw BP C Store, LLC.

*Tabled a request from the City of Eutaw for demolition of swimming pool on Greensboro at a cost of $5,619.30 (material, fuel and labor).

*Approved a request from CFO Paula Bird to attend the 2012 Financial Administration Workshop  February 9-10 in Tuscaloosa,

*Approved a request from County Engineer Arzo Abrams for he and his staff to attend the Alabama Vegetation Management Society Annual Meeting February 28-29 in Tuscaloosa and a request that the Assistant County Engineer C. B. Wellman attend the 55th annual Transportation Conference February 23-24 in Montgomery.
