According to Interim Superintendent Dr. Emma Louie, an incident occurred at Greene County High School on the morning of November 18, 2011. One student was injured, treated at Greene County High Hospital and released.

“The situation is under control,” said  Dr. Louie, “The principal, other school personnel and superintendent have taken every precaution for the safety of our children,”

She also pointed out that great precautions are regularly taken at the school by utilizing metal detectors and security cameras. “No student information can lawfully be provided,” said Dr. Louie. “We are taking steps to get to the bottom of the incident which led to the injury.”

Dr. Louie also said, “We are concerned that rumors may have made the situation much worse than it is. Any injury to a student is a serious matter. However, we are glad that the situation was not any worse. The school administration is redoubling efforts to prevent such incidents We are communicating with parents and students about the incident so they can have the right information.”
