Librarian Marilyn Gibson shows two of the six recovered computers. These two were broken as if they had been thrown down. Four other computers were recovered in working shape.
On March 17, six Apple Computers stolen from the James Poole Jr. Memorial Library were recovered on Spencer Street, which is only about a block and a half from the library.
Assistant Police Chief Luther Davis said the thieves apparently became frightened and abandoned the computers. The department is looking for a cream colored SUV. Davis said the license place for that vehicle was seen at the library,
Other incidents investigated by the Eutaw Police Department include:
5/16 – Somebody broke in one of the apartments at Sanders Black and damaged the door.
5/18 – Brent Lashley reported some stole his black and tan Bassett Hound and a black Schnauzer.
Arrests reported by the Eutaw Police Department included:
5/20 – Jeremy Hutton, 23, of Eutaw was arrested for rape.
5/21 – Gregory Crenshaw, 32, of Tishabee was arrested for attempting to elude police and DUI.
Greene Co. Sheriff’s Office
The Greene County Sheriff’s Office reported only two arrests last week:
5/16 – Lorenzo Taylor, Jr., 22, of Eutaw was arrested for menacing.
5/19 – Wilson Craig, 40, of Boligee was arrested for contributing to truancy.
Incidents reported to the Greene County include:
May 11 – Abby Lavender reported theft of an air compressor valued at $250.
May 17 – Dosha Madison reported someone stole her Craftsman lawnmower valued at $174.
May 19 – Waltonya Storey reported theft of property and criminal mischief. Stolen were three catalytic converters valued at $500 and four tires and wheels valued at $1,000. The driver’s side of the door was damaged.
5/19 – Robert Fields reported the theft of his Bass boat and trailer.
5/22 – Columbus Blair of Tuscaloosa reported an assault at Arrowood Apartments. There are suspects but no arrests.
